House of Jhansi

HOUSE OF JHANSI

Named after Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi (1828 -1858)

Rani Lakshmibai was a fearless warrior queen and a leading figure in The Indian Rebellion of 1857 against the British East India Company.Known for her courageous revolt against the British colonial rule, Jhansi Ki Rani lived and died for her country, fighting for independence. The House of Jhansi stands for bravery, resilience, and a strong sense of justice. Students in this house are encouraged to face challenges and to stand up for what is right, embodying the fearless spirit of Rani Lakshmibai. Red is the House colour that symbolises passion, energy, and strength.


HOUSE OF CURIE

Named after Maria Salomea Skłodowska Curie - Marie Curie (1867 - 1934)

A pioneer in science, Marie Curie discovered Polonium and Radium in 1898. She made groundbreaking contributions in the field of radioactivity, becoming the first woman to win a Nobel Prize. To date, she remains the only individual to win the Nobel Prize twice for her work in two different scientific fields, Physics and Chemistry. The House of Curie values intellectual curiosity, perseverance, and a thirst for knowledge. Students in this house are inspired to pursue academic excellence, embrace curiosity, and contribute to the advancement of science and technology. The House colour is Mint Green, representing growth, renewal, and a fresh perspective on learning and discovery

HOUSE OF RUDRA

Named after Rudra Deva Maharaja - Rani Rudrama Devi (c.1223 - 1289)

A prominent ruler of the Kakatiya dynasty, Rani Rudrama Devi was amongst the most successful women rulers of medieval India. She is celebrated for defending her kingdom, great administration, and exceptional leadership. The House of Rudra symbolises leadership, strength, and integrity. Students of this house are encouraged to develop their leadership skills, uphold strong moral values, and make positive contributions to their community. The House colour, Purple, signifies wisdom, ambition, and dignity.


HOUSE OF BENZ

Named after Bertha Benz (1849 - 1944)

A German automobile entrepreneur, Bertha Benz was the first person to drive an internal-combustion-engine-powered car over a long distance, inventing on her journey the brake linings and additional gear for climbing hills. Her 105 km drive was a key event in the evolution of the automobile, resulting in significant improvements and making the Motorwagen the first commercially successful automobile in history. The House of Benz symbolises the spirit of innovation and strong-willed spirit. Students belonging to this house are encouraged to think out-of-the-box, find a way around, and become change-makers for the things that matter. Grey is the House colour symbolising sophistication, practicality, and resilience.

HOUSE OF ASHOKA

Named after Ashoka The Great (304 BCE - 232 BCE)

A great emperor of ancient India, Ashoka is remembered for his transformation from a ruthless conqueror to a compassionate ruler. He promoted peace and welfare throughout his vast empire that stretched from the current day Amaravati in Southern India to Kandahar in Afghanistan. His reign became the biggest in the world at the time in terms of area, economy, and military. The achievements in the fields of science and education made this period the Golden Age of India. The House of Ashoka stands for peace, welfare, and enlightenment. Students in this house are inspired to work for harmony, contribute their service to the welfare of society, and seek knowledge and wisdom. Yellow is the House colour representing optimism, hope, and dedication to positive change


HOUSE OF CHANDRA

Named after Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman FRS (1888 - 1970)

Sir C.V. Raman was a pioneering Indian physicist known for his groundbreaking work in the field of light scattering using a spectrograph that he developed. He won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930 for his work on the scattering of light and for the discovery of the eponymous Raman effect. The House of Chandra represents intellectual pursuit, curiosity, and a passion for discovery. Students of this house are encouraged to explore the mysteries of the natural world, and seek knowledge. The House colour, Blue, signifies intelligence, depth, and stability.

HOUSE OF EDISON

Named after Thomas Alva Edison (1847 - 1931)

One of the most prolific inventors in history, Edison revolutionised and transformed modern human life with his numerous groundbreaking innovations, including the practical electric light bulb, the phonograph, mass communication, sound recording, and electric power generation. He was a founder of the General Electric Company, the modern-day GE. The House of Edison embodies creativity, hard work, and innovative thinking. Instilling that very spirit in the students for thinking creatively and relentlessly working on giving life to unique ideas, this house inspires individuality. The House colour is Army Green, symbolising strength, resilience, and the power of innovation.


HOUSE OF CHANAKYA

Named after Chanakya - Kautilya - Vishnu Gupta (4th Century BCE)

A great strategist, teacher, philosopher, economist, and jurist of ancient India. Chanakya is widely credited for conceptualising and achieving the unification of dispersed Mahajanapadas of ancient India, assisting his student Chandragupta in his rise to power and establishing the great Mauryan Empire. His treatise, The Arthashastra of Kautilya, made significant contributions to politics, economics, and strategy, and remains widely read even today. The House of Chanakya represents wisdom, strategy, and leadership. Students of this house are encouraged to develop strategic thinking, uphold ethical standards, and lead with wisdom and foresight. The House colour, Orange, signifies energy, enthusiasm, and a drive for success.
